Support & Help
You can contact the student and doctoral student ombuds when you feel that your study environment is being affected by the university's actions. You can ask questions about, among other things, fair examinations, the work environment, discrimination or the implementation of teaching. You can also contact us if you yourself are suspected of having done something, such as a disciplinary offence or issues related to your work environment. The ombuds are employed by the student unions' cooperation organization, the University of Gothenburg Student Unions, GUS.
The ombuds work by the rules and regulations that concern the university's activity and we will try to resolve the situation as good as possible for you. The ombuds can help you navigate the university world and understand what applies to you when it comes to your specific problem, the ombuds can also negotiate and point out shortcomings for the university. However, it is not possible to go outside the framework that has been decided regarding your studies or the organizational work environment. In the event that you have failed an examination, for example, the course objectives must always be met in order to receive a grade, regardless of whether the university has also failed.
To get in touch with the ombuds, you can write a message, call or visit our office in Studenternas hus. To be sure that we are available, it is best to make an appointment.
The ombuds' work is confidential and what you tell us will not be shared with the university, unless you want it to be. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions!
