Läkarutbildningsrådet (LUR)
What is LUR?
The Medical Education Council (LUR) is the student union's education monitoring body for the medical program. LUR consists of course representatives from each semester and a working committee (AU) elected by SAKS, which functions as the council's board.
We have meetings four times per semester and discuss current issues affecting the education, such as problems that may have arisen in different courses, what the six-year medical program should look like and our work environment. LUR also collaborates with other education councils in Sweden and meets regularly at national meetings. We also elect and coordinate student representatives, who represent the medical students in important working groups and committees within the academy - in this way we have a lot of influence over our education and study time!

Four meetings are planned to be held during the spring, the dates for these are:
4 September
2 October
6 November
11 December
You can just show up and listen without any registration. Do you want to receive an invitation to our meetings? Contact us, and we will put you on the invitation list! Invitations are sent out one week before each meeting. The meetings are also posted on Orbi.
Education monitoring
In addition to the working committee, LUR mainly operates through course representatives (semester representatives in the new program) and student representatives. The course representatives represent the students in the current course, while the student representatives sit in working groups connected to the academy concerning issues that include elements of more than one course. You are elected as a course representative by the class, usually at the beginning of the course, and shortly after the course has been notified of this, you will be contacted by us at LUR directly. Student representatives are elected at LUR meetings as they represent the students towards the academy, and therefore, you need to contact us first if you are interested in this.
Have you been elected as a course representative? How fun! Your assignment includes keeping in touch with LUR and ensuring that your class is represented at our meetings. For more information or if you want to know more about how you as a course representative fill in the course report for LUR meetings, see the attached PDF here on the page.
Have you been elected as a student representative – fun! If you would like more information about this assignment, see the attached PDF on this page.
LUR also cares about the students' work environment! Among other things, we have had mental health among medical students as a focus issue in previous years. As part of this work, we have compiled a pamphlet on mental health and where to seek help, which is attached to this page. The pamphlet is also available in physical form at the student union office.
Meeting protocols from previous LUR meetings can be found here.
